According to Ayurveda, there are 3 dosha or physiological systems in the body. The word Dosha means the one with the tendency to malign. The dosha, namely vata, pitta and kapha, are like the handle of a bike. The handle of the bike guides the direction of the bike, but if the control over the handle is lost or when the handle goes astray, the balance of the bike is also lost. Similarly, dosha are the guiding force of the body metabolism, however their balance has to be actively preserved just like that of the handle of the bike. Whenever there is any loss of control over the dosha, they get vitiated and cause diseases. Therefore it is important to be able to diagnose the complicated dosha pathogenesis before planning the treatment. Diagnosis of Dosha imbalance is the guiding factor for the Ayurvedic treatment. At Govardhan Ayurveda, Ayurvedic treatment starts with the diagnosis of the dosha imbalance.

In the context of Ayurveda, cure has a special meaning. Disease is defined as the imbalance in the metabolism of the body. In Ayurveda, the cure is never focused on removing the symptoms. Such an approach will be loop-sided and might cause side-effects or short term benefits. The focus of Ayurvedic medicine is on regaining the overall metabolic balance of the body, on reining in the 3 dosha back in to a metabolic symphony. Following the true philosophy of Ayurveda, we at Govardhan Ayurveda hope to provide a cure that will provide long term relief with minimum side effects if any at all.

The cure or the treatment is a factor of Prakrati or body constitution. You are a distinct individual and we honor your uniqueness in the body and the mind. A part of a ford car cannot fit in a Toyota car. When the inanimate things exhibit such exclusivity, the distinction of each human body cannot be over-looked during treatment. At Govardhan Ayurveda, each patient is offered personalized treatment based on her/his prakrati or body constitution. The treatment provided to each patient for the same disease may differ starkly due to the difference in their prakrati. Our experienced physicians ensure that treatment adhers strictly to the individual needs of the patient.

Most of the diseases are caused by improper food and lifetstyle. Ayurvedic cure starts with “Nidan Parivarjan”. The word “nidan” means the cause or the diagnosis and “parivarjan” means prevention. The cause is the source of the disease. There can be no Ayurvedic treatment without Nidan Parivarjan. For example, if you are obese, this is common sense that you have to start eating wisely in order to make any treatment effective. Ayurveda offers no magic cures. However, at Govardhan Ayurveda, we help you in all possible ways to ease your transition from unhealthy to healthy habits. We offer detailed consultation and help the patient to shift to a healthier dietary and lifetstyle regimen. Following the healthy daily routine of the Ecovillage, patients get used to the new health habits incidentally. They do not have to make an extra effort for a healthy change.

Today, most scientific researches prove that 99% of disorders are related or caused by mental problems like stress, depression, anxiety etc. Ayurveda advocates the cure for the mind along with the body, in order to ensure that the drug –base treatment reaches its best potential. It is not necessary that the patient should require medical attention only when they develop a definable mental disorder like depression, bipolar disorder or stress. Every person is suffering from some or the other mental concern. It might be a small concern or a big one, but it needs to be addressed by the physician. Spirituality is a big help in resolving mental knots and peacefully accepting your reality. At Govardhan Ayurveda, we help you to resolve your mental problems and lay them to rest through regular spiritual lectures, meditation, music therapy, mantra and many more such techniques. We try to provide a very comprehensive cure to our patients which can be called Ayurvedic in a true sense.
