The Govardhan Eco Village leadership team comprises of dignitaries from multifaceted areas of expertise who have come together to create a model farm community. This diverse and multi-talented team have been doing extensive research globally into various aspects of eco-farming, studying from best practices across the world. With an amalgamation of modern technology with Vedic wisdom, the community hopes to provide a solution for a successful and sustainable living experiment to resolve the current global ecological crisis.

In 1970, at a mere nineteen years of age, Radhanath Swami left his home in America seeking adventure and spiritual knowledge. After trekking across Europe for months, he reached his long hoped for destination: India. After living there for many years as a Sadhu or wandering monk, he returned to America to share the sacred he had gathered. He is a disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder Acarya of International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Currently he stays at Sri Sri Radha Gopinath Mandir in South Mumbai. Over the past 20 years he has been guiding several social development projects and a congregation of over 3000 devotees. As a gesture of service to humanity, he travels all over the world preaching the message of Bhagavad Gita.

Mr. Hrishikesh Mafatlal is the Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive of the Arvind Mafatlal Group of Companies (AMG). Mr. Mafatlal has an Honors Degree in Commerce (1975) from the Sydenham College, Mumbai. In 1993, he attended the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at the Harvard Business School, USA. He is a past President and now a Managing Committee Member of The Mill owners’ Association, Mumbai (MOA). He was a Member on the Board of Governors of IIM Ahmedabad for 12 years (1995 – 2007), and a Vice Chairman of The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL). He is a Trustee of Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust as well as BAIF Development Research Foundation.

Kushal Desai is currently Managing Director of Apar Industries Ltd., a leading manufacturer of Specialty Lubricants, Power Transmission Lines and Cables. Under his leadership, Apar has grown to be the 4th largest Transformer oil manufacturer and amongst the top 5 conductor companies globally.

Before assuming this position, Kushal was the Managing Director of GE Lighting in India and held various positions with Apar’s Lighting business and General Electric in India from 1989 till 1996. He was also associated with Apar Infotech, a system integration software company, which he co-founded in 1997 and actively worked with till 2004, including getting the company listed on NASDAQ in September 2004. He had been associated with ELCOMA and IEEMA, leading industry bodies in their respective fields as an office bearer in various capacities in the past. Kushal is actively involved in a leadership capacity with NGO’s that play transformative roles in the education and environment sustainability in India.

Kushal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering and a Business degree from the Wharton School, both of which are a part of the University of Pennsylvania.

With a Graduate degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the reputed IIT Mumbai, Gauranga Das leads the Govardhan Ecovillage Facilities, Nursery and the Green Buildings Construction(CSEB). He has won several accolades for GEV by presenting the Symbiotic waste management systems followed in GEV, at various reputed conferences such as CII, SKOCH and FICCI. He has been instrumental in creating the new Vedic Culture and Education Centre at GEV. He is currently also leading the much awaited Vrindavan Biodiversity project at GEV.

Krishnan M Iyer is a Chartered Accountant and law graduate with over twenty-five years of experience in Finance. He retired as the CFO of a multinational corporation in the year 2000 and is now serving full time in ISKCON Chowpatty, overseeing the Finances and General Administration. He is also, currently, the CFO of ISKCON Mayapur ToVP project.

Mr Sanat Kumar Das holds degrees in B.Com, L.L.B from Bombay University. With a vast knowledge of natural living, he is currently leading the Organic Farming, Gurukul and Rural Development Program in over 20 villages around GEV. He is working with various organizations like BAIF for the development of rural farmers and has been instrumental in creating several self-help groups for the local women. With the help of Bhaktivedanta Hospital, he was helped in the setting up of a primary health centre in the Hamrapur village.

In his capacity as a Partner and CFO of BGC, Sanjiv is responsible for taking care of the Finances of various funds launched by Basil Partners. Basil Funds are registered in Mauritius and focus on investments in Niche Technology Services worldwide. Basil has till date made 18 investments in various companies worldwide. Sanjiv is responsible for due diligence of potential companies, legal and regulatory matters and key member of the Investment Committee. Sanjiv has been part of the due diligence exercise during the Ness and Apar Infotech Merger in 2003.

Mr Rajiv Srivastava has twenty years of global operations and investment experience across the U.S., Europe and Asia. He has been a venture capitalist and private equity investor since 2006. He has been an investor and active board member in companies such as Encora Group BVI, Apar Holding Corp, Cignex Technologies, Suvin Technologies. He has grown and guided couple of his companies through M&A and IPO’s. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a MBA from Mumbai University.
